Xenon HID Kit Wire Relay Harness 40 AMP with FUSE

Item Description

This harness is used to protect your HID bulbs, as well as solve the flickering light issue that some vehicles experience with aftermarket HID Kits. These Digital Relay Harnesses are designed to fix issues that result from low electrical current from cars, and the single light turning on during startup.

Cars with DRL example new Peugeot's also need this to run a HID kit otherwise the bulb's will not turn on.

Installing HID kit with the Relay harness can avoid Flickering problem some cars may have. This Relay harness wires can draw the power from the battery and not from the vehicle's electrical system and deliver to the HID ballasts; and not to short your vehicle. The long wire is covered with poly synthetic to prevent any damage from over heating.

This is a Dual Harness which will power both sides and will work just like normal meaning you still turn the lights on normally from inside the car.

When I start my car with the HID kit turned on, why do one or both of the lights turn off.

The lack of power and pulsing voltage when your starter is cranking may activate the safety circuit in the ballast and turn one or both off to protect itself.

You may either start your car with your headlights turned off, or install the "auto lamp / daytime running lights" relay harness.

How do I know if I need a "auto lamp / daytime running lights" relay harness?

- If your car has headlights that turn on automatically when it gets dark then yes you may require a harness.

- If your DRL circuit shares with your low beam it may only output 50% - 80% power when your DRL is active and will cause your lights to flicker. That lack of power is not enough power to activate the HID ballast thus requiring a auto lamp/DRL relay harness. In some vehicles you can remove the DRL relay or fuse to disable your DRL. This will stop your lights from flickering when you start your car. If you are able to disable your DRL then you will not need a auto lamp/DRL harness as well.

If your vehicle is running at 100% operating condition you may not need a relay, however, if your electrical system does not output 12 volts consistently you will need a relay.
